Purchasing team further expanded with Zev Clerx
As of December 1, the purchasing team of Waterman Onions has been further expanded with the arrival of Zev Clerx. Growing up on his parents’ arable farm (in Nagele), the 29-year-old got to know the sector from up close. “Even though I never had the ambition to become a farmer, I do have an affinity with the sector.”
The interest in the commercial branch of arable farming grew over the years, “Initially, I wanted to complete the training in sports and management.” It soon turned out that this training did not suit Zev, and he switched to business administration.
During his education, he started to find his parents’ company and the agricultural sector more and more enjoyable; this interest grew further when he was able to gain more experience in the sale and logistics of agricultural products at his previous employer Souman Agro in Marknesse. “In the agricultural sector, it is essential that you can switch and act quickly.” Although Zev thinks customer contact is the most important thing. “I think being able to bind and retain customers or growers is a great challenge in my work.”
At Waterman Onions, Zev Remko and the other purchasing team members will support, “Mainly the logistics tasks, payments and other administrative tasks within the purchasing department. I already gained experience in this in my previous position. With a global player like Waterman, I can specialise even further.” In addition, Zev and colleagues Jelmer and Harmjan are also happy to assist growers with personal advice, the purchase of onions, or the purchase of onion seed.
