Poppe Landbouw and Waterman Onions have joined forces and started BioQrops together. It’s all in the name! BioQrops tells precisely the story that owners Joos Poppe and Erik Waterman want to share: Bio for organic and Qrops for quality crops.

“We found each other in the rising demand for more sustainable and organically grown produce.” Says co-owner Erik Waterman. “With this far-reaching collaboration, we can leverage the unique strengths of both family businesses, and BioQrops offers the best of both worlds.” Poppe Landbouw has been an organic supplier to Waterman Onions for many years. “When we got the feeling to take the next step in organic, a closer collaboration with Poppe Landbouw was the logical choice.”
Cultivation, processing and packaging
The family business Poppe Landbouw from Nagele has been growing completely organically since 2002, with in-house cultivation, storage and packaging facilities. Innovation in all facets of business operations has always been a top priority. The new step with the establishment of BioQrops fits perfectly within their company and philosophy.” The organic sector is rapidly changing. With this establishment, we are broadening and strengthening our position and realizing our dreamed ambitions in sales. With BioQrops, I take on a new challenge and combine my passion for cultivation and innovative entrepreneurship.” According to co-owner Joos Poppe.
Tapping into new organic sales markets
A new adventure is also starting for Rudie Ensing, who will be responsible for sales and purchasing for BioQrops on behalf of Waterman Onions. “With BioQrops, we can tap into new organic sales markets and use a broad existing international network.” The focus of BioQrops is to find new sales channels since growers in the Netherlands depend on export abroad. “With BioQrops, we do not want to be just another link in the organic chain. We want to build sustainable relationships with customers and suppliers and be an equal sparring partner for all their challenges.” Continues Rudie.
